What is Service-Learning?
* Service learning is a practice where faculty integrate service into the “text” of the class curriculum.* It works to bring abstract academia into the real world and students gain hands-on experience and practice being active members of their community.
* Service learning is an opportunity for the university to become a more integrated resource within the community, and to produce graduates with high standards of civic responsibility.
* Through the use of service learning, community based organizations find themselves better able meet the needs of their constituents, as they have access to human and organizational resources through these unique partnerships with the university.
